Yatton Station
The existing passenger footbridge at Yatton train station, Somerset required minor refurbishment in order to extend the life of the bridge a further ten years.
TR Services (Bristol) Ltd were awarded the contract to provide a scaffold around the existing foot bridge to facilitate minor steelwork repair and deck replacement. A temporary footbridge was installed to provide safe access across the rail lines while the existing one was being repaired. This project was complicated by the 100MPH maximum speed limit, which imposed a potential uplift load on the scaffold structure of over 7 tonnes.
