PUBLOW
BRIDGE, NR PENSFORD - LATERAL RESTRAINING STRUCTURE TO EXISTING
CARRIAGEWAY BRIDGE
A
17th century grade 2 listed bridge was reported to have suffered
structural instability potentially caused by volume and weight
of 21st century transport.
TR
Services were employed to design, supply and erect a structure
to temporarily provide lateral restraint. This was achieved
by casting a concrete base to act as kentledge, and then erecting
RMD slimshor raking props.
The
RMD temporary structure will remain in situ until a final
remedial solution is embodied.
